About Me

I am currently majoring in Growth and Structure of Cities, with a concentration in architecture at Bryn Mawr College and minoring in Fine Art Sculpture at Haverford College. I am a sprinter for Bryn Mawr’s Varsity Track and Field team and a soprano in Haverford’s touring choir, The Chamber Singers. I also hold a part time job as a prep-cook in one of the Bryn Mawr dinning halls.

I have had a lifelong interest in design and building, both architectural and sculptural. I’m a maker and have always gravitated towards building things! My long background in construction and carpentry brings a technical perspective to inform my design projects. Part of my creative practice is also deeply rooted in art. This takes many forms: I keep a visual journal of sketches and mixed media, I’ve studied classical voice and sung in choirs for many years, I’m studying sculpture and can often be found in the wood/metal shops, I also enjoy fiber arts like embroidery, sewing, or mending, and I love photography, both film and digital.

Beyond technical skills, my studies have equipped me with a larger context of urbanism and city planning. I’ve studied, engaged with, and written about many sociological, economic, and urban phenomenon in cities around the world. This informs my architectural projects by understanding the greater contexts they are situated in.

Through all the various mediums I work in, my designs focus on how shapes, spaces, and geometries respond to and work around one another in harmony. I prioritize intentional symmetry or contrast and “agreement” between shapes, so that all the pieces of a project are relating to one another, to create a cohesive and balanced design. This philosophy is rooted in understanding and responding to the individual site context of each project, something I believe to be incredibly important in creating complete and effective designs.

Practically, I am experienced working on teams and in leadership positions, and always have an eagerness to learn new skills and collaborate with different kinds of people! I am proficient in Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Suite (as well as almost all conventional power tools).
